Passport photo requirements for Kenyan online applications
Size, background and file limits — so eCitizen, job and school portals accept your photo.
Each portal sets its own photo rules, usually on the upload page. These are the common ones.
- Plain white or light background
- Face centred and looking straight at the camera
- No filters, heavy edits or sunglasses
- Recent photo — usually within the last six months
- File type JPG or PNG, under the stated size limit
Making the file fit
- 1Take the photo in good daylight against a plain wall.
- 2Crop and resize with our free image resizer.
- 3Compress it with our image compressor if it's above the limit.
- 4Check it still looks sharp before uploading.
