7 CV mistakes that cost Kenyan job seekers interviews
Small changes that make a big difference to whether you get called.
Want a professional CV prepared for you?
Prefer to write it yourself? The tips continue below.

Recruiters often spend less than ten seconds on a CV before deciding. Here are the most common mistakes we fix.
- Too long. Two pages is enough for most people.
- Starting with personal details like religion, ID number and marital status. Leave them out.
- No profile summary. Two or three lines at the top telling them who you are.
- Duties instead of results. 'Managed stock' is weaker than 'Reduced stock losses by keeping weekly records'.
- Old or unprofessional email address.
- One CV for every job. Adjust it for each advert.
- Spelling mistakes. Ask someone to read it.
