How to register for NSSF online and get your number
NSSF registration on the self-service portal: what you need and the steps.
Need help with your NSSF registration or statement?
Want to do it yourself? The steps are below.

Employers need your NSSF number to make deductions. Self-employed people can also register and save for retirement.
What you need
- National ID
- KRA PIN
- Phone number and email
- Your employer's details, if employed
General steps
- 1Open the official NSSF self-service portal from nssf.or.ke.
- 2Choose member registration.
- 3Enter your ID and personal details.
- 4Confirm with the code sent to your phone.
- 5Download or note your NSSF number.
Tip: If you already had an NSSF number years ago, don't register again — ask NSSF to retrieve the old one so your savings stay together.
Registering through your phone is also possible. See our guide on NSSF registration via phone.
