How to transfer a car logbook on eCitizen
Buying or selling a car? Both buyer and seller must finish the transfer on the NTSA portal.
Need a hand with your NTSA booking or transfer?
Want to handle it yourself? Continue with the guide.

A car isn't truly yours until the logbook is in your name. The transfer happens online, through the NTSA service on eCitizen.
What you need
- Seller's and buyer's eCitizen accounts
- Both KRA PINs and IDs
- The vehicle registration number
- Payment for the official NTSA transfer fee
Steps
- 1The seller starts the transfer and enters the buyer's details.
- 2The seller pays the transfer fee.
- 3The buyer logs in and accepts the transfer.
- 4NTSA reviews and issues the new logbook in the buyer's name.
Tip: Never hand over full payment before the transfer is started on the portal. Contact Cyber Kenya on WhatsApp for the current assistance fee.
