Want to handle it yourself? Continue with the guide.

Commercial vehicles, PSVs and some transferred or imported vehicles need inspection. You book and pay through eCitizen (NTSA), then present the vehicle at the inspection centre.
What to carry
- Inspection booking confirmation and payment receipt
- Logbook or copy
- Owner's ID or authorisation letter
- Valid insurance
Things commonly checked
- Lights, indicators and wipers
- Brakes and tyres
- Seat belts and speed governor where required
- Body condition and chassis/engine numbers matching records
Tip: Fix small things like bulbs and wipers before the day. They're a common reason for failing.
The official fee depends on the vehicle type and is shown on eCitizen when you book. Read our step-by-step guide on booking inspection.
