How to reduce your SHA payment online (step by step)
Your SHA amount is too high? Here's how the review works on *147# and the SHA portal, and what to prepare first.

You can ask SHA to review your monthly contribution if it doesn't match your real household income. There is no fee to SHA for this. What decides the outcome is the information you give, so take a few minutes to prepare.
First, check your current amount
- 1Dial *147# from the phone number you registered SHA with.
- 2Choose the option to view your contribution or account details.
- 3Write down the monthly amount and any arrears shown.
What to have ready
- Your National ID number
- Your SHA-registered phone, with the line working
- Real details about everyone in your household
- A rough, honest figure of your household's monthly income

Requesting the review
- 1On *147# or the official SHA portal, look for the option to review, appeal or update means-testing details. The wording changes from time to time.
- 2Answer each question about your household and income truthfully.
- 3Submit and keep the confirmation SMS or reference.
- 4Check your amount again after a few days.
Tip: Nobody can promise you a specific figure. SHA works out the amount from its own assessment. Be careful of anyone who guarantees a reduction.
If it doesn't work
Requests sometimes fail because the phone line isn't in your name, your ID isn't matching, or the menu times out. Fix the underlying problem first, then try again once — repeated requests can confuse things.
