How to check if a KRA PIN is valid
Use KRA's official PIN Checker to confirm a PIN is genuine — and why no other website can do it for you.

Employers, landlords and suppliers sometimes need to confirm a KRA PIN is real. Only KRA can confirm this, through the PIN Checker on iTax.
Steps
- 1Open itax.kra.go.ke.
- 2Find PIN Checker on the home page.
- 3Choose to check by PIN and type it in.
- 4Solve the security sum and click Consult.
- 5The taxpayer name and status show if the PIN exists.
Tip: Be careful of sites asking for your ID number to 'find your PIN'. Only KRA has those records.
