How to reset your KRA iTax password or change your email
Locked out of iTax, or the reset link goes to an old email? Here's what to do in each case.

Most iTax problems come down to a forgotten password or an email address you no longer use. The fix depends on which one it is.
If you still use the email on iTax
- 1Go to itax.kra.go.ke and enter your KRA PIN.
- 2Click Forgot Password / Unlock Account.
- 3Answer the security question shown.
- 4Open the email from KRA and use the new password to log in.
- 5Set a new password you'll remember.
If you no longer use that email
You need to change the email linked to your PIN. KRA handles this through its official support channels — usually by sending a request with a copy of your ID from an email you can access. KRA may take a few days to respond.
- Your KRA PIN
- A clear copy of your National ID
- The new email address
- A short request explaining the change
Tip: Never send your ID copy to anyone claiming to be from KRA through WhatsApp or personal email. Use KRA's official contacts on kra.go.ke.
