How to apply for a Kenyan passport online

Passport applications are made on eCitizen through the Department of Immigration. You fill the form online, pay, then attend an appointment for fingerprints and photo.
Documents usually needed
- National ID (copy)
- Birth certificate (copy)
- Recent passport photos meeting the portal's rules
- Parents' IDs for applicants under 18
- Recommender details where asked
Steps
- 1Log in to eCitizen and open Immigration services.
- 2Choose the passport type and fill the form.
- 3Upload documents and photo.
- 4Pay the official fee shown on the portal.
- 5Book and attend your biometrics appointment.
- 6Track the status and collect when ready.
Tip: Most rejections are photo problems. Use a plain light background and check the size limits before uploading.
