How to get a KRA Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
Needed for tenders, jobs and licences. Here's how to apply and why it gets rejected.

A TCC shows you are up to date with your tax obligations. Employers, tenders and some licences ask for it.
Before you apply
- File all due returns — including nil returns
- Clear any outstanding tax or penalties
- Make sure your iTax details are current
Steps
- 1Log in to iTax.
- 2Go to Certificates, then Apply for Tax Compliance Certificate.
- 3Fill the reason and submit.
- 4If approved, download it from iTax.
Tip: Most rejections come from a missing return from an earlier year. Check your filing history first.
